Trekking Detail

Langtang valley trekking is also called the valley of glaciers trek. Langtang is the closet place where you could get the massive snow capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. This valley is located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu. The whole valley is dominated by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246m)and offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy down and meadows.

Langtang valley trekking you take around 8 hours drive from Kathmandu. The starting point of trekking is Syabru Bensi. From Syabru Bensi you will follow the Langtang River to the east until you get to Kyangin Gompa (3,049) with overnight stay at Lama Hotel, Langtang valley respectively. On the fourth day you will arrive at Langtang valley. In this valley besides natural wonders you also visit local Tibetan village and see their lifestyle. The last destination of this trekking is Kyanjin Gompa. You visit ancient Buddhist monastery and glaciers in Langtang. Here you stay one more day on next day you get an opportunity to ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m). From its top you will get 360 degree mountain views.

Langtang valley trekking is more existing long day walk to Lanshisha Kharka. From Kyanjing Gompa the trail heading east and trail follow the valley past the turn off to Tsergo Ri and past the air field. It is long walking approximately 10 hours from Kyanjing Gompa. Our guide will carry some snacks and water. Also we will recommend to bring snacks and some water with you. Along the way you get some great views of the nearby peaks including Dorje Lakpa, and eventually Shisha Pangma, the only 8,000 meter peak in Tibet. The trail accent few minutes after that continue to be quite easy pass through the moraines you reach a Langshisha Kharka, which is marked by a number of poles with prayer flags. After having a pack lunch return to the Kayanjing Gompa. The Langtnag valley trekking is one of the enjoyable short trekking route in Nepal. From Kyangjin, you retrace your route back down the valley to Syabru Besi and then drive back to Pokhara.

  • Day 1:

    Arrival at Pokhara

    After arrival in Pokhara airport, you will be welcomed by our officer. He will assist you to transfer the hotel. At hotel he gives you orientation of the overall trip. Meet your trekking guide. O/n at hotel in Pokhara
  • Day 2:

    Drive from Pokhara to Syabrubeshi

    Wake up early in the morning. Have a breakfast at the hotel. Drive few minutes to catch up coach for Syabrubeshi with your trekking guide and porter. The coach departs at 7 o’clock. Enjoy seven our scenic drive through Trishuli Valley with villages, river and mountains. The bus stops half an hour nearby highway restaurants on the way for lunch. You will be reached at Syabrubeshi (1,460m) around 2 or 3 o’clock. Check in at mountain lodge at Syabrubeshi. The rest of the day is free. O/n at mountain lodge

  • Day 3:

    Trek from Shabrubeshi to Lama Hotel

    From today after breakfast your trekking starts. You start your walking on your own pace and the trail ascends for around two hours through the forest followed by a climb of about an hour to reach Bamboo village (1,850m/6,068ft) where you’ll stop for lunch. This forested path with well stabilized trails and following the upstream and can be seen birds life around the bushes. Bee hives hanging on a cliff are another attraction for the visitors. From here you will again steeply climb through the bamboo forest to reach the Lama Hotel (2560m) where you’ll rest and overnight at a local teahouse. O/n at mountain lodge

  • Day 4:

    Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley

    Today you will have a pleasant walk and follow the trail through rhododendron and pine forest for around three hours to reach Ghoda Tabela where you will stop for lunch. This surrounding area dense wild habitat area and many small babblers with lot of herbal can be found here. After lunch you will walk another three hours on the scenic trail takes you to Langtang village (3455m) where you will relax for the evening. O/n at mountain lodge

  • Day 5:

    Trek from Langtang Valley to Kyanjin Gompa

    Today after breakfast you will leave beautiful Langtang Village and start your trek leisurely for around three to four hours to visit Kyanjing Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is the last destination of your trekking at an altitude of 3817m from sea level. From here you will have beautiful views of Mt Ganchempo and Mt. Langtang Lirung. You will visit surrounding area like Yak cheese Factory, Kyanjin Monastery and local houses. O/n at mountain lodge

  • Day 6:

    Explore around Kyanjin Gompa and climb to Tsego Ri

    Today you will explore around natural beauties of Kyanjin Gompa. In the morning if you are interested your guide take you to climb Tsego Ri (5150m). Then visit Langtang glacier and Langshisha Kharka (the beautiful yak pasture land). You back to the same mountain lodge at Kyanjin for a rest. O/n at mountain lodge

  • Day 7:

    Trek back from Kyanjin Gompa to Ghoda Tabela

    This morning you retrace your steps to Ghoda Tabela. The walking will be pleasant and scenic one. O/n at mountain lodge

  • Day 8:

    Trek back from Kyanjin Ghoda Tabela to Shabrubeshi

    Today you walk down to Syabrubeshi via Lama Hotel and Bamboo through previous rhododendron forest and along with Bhotekoshi river. O/n at mountain lodge

  • Day 9:

    Drive back to Pokhara from Syabrubeshi through the same previous road

    After breakfast catch a coach to set for Pokhara. After reach in Pokhara, you will be taken to your hotel. Have a rest. In evening you can stroll around Lakeside, the major tourist destination of Pokhara. You can do some last minute shopping of souvenirs for your family and relatives. O/n at hotel in Pokhara.

  • Day 10:

    Rest day in Samagaon.

  • Day 11:

    Samagaon to Samdo

  • Day 12:

    Samdo to Dharmashala

  • Day 13:

    Dharmashala to Bhimtang

  • Day 14:

    Bhimtang to Kharche khola

  • Day 15:

    Kharche khola to Dharapani then down to Tal.

  • Day 16:

    Tal to walk Chamche then jeep to Benshisar then bus to Pokhara
